A Card for My Birthday Twin
L will never, ever, EVER forget my birthday. Know why? Because my birthday just so happens to be the same day as his Mom's birthday, so he'd have two of us to answer to if he ever did. Since her/our birthday(s) is/are just a couple of weeks away, I decided to whip up a simple card for her using some of the fun, new papers that I picked up a few weeks back (along with a few goodies that were already in my stash). Apparently my understanding of the phrase "dries clear" varies pretty substantially from what the manufacturer actually meant, but I'm fairly pleased with the results overall.
This one's super easy to put together, but I'll provide a few basic instructions just in case. Using a die-cut chipboard scroll as a template, tracing the shape onto a piece of patterned paper and carefully cut out. Affix the paper to the scroll with glue and allow to dry thoroughly. Tear a small piece of textured kraft paper and apply a "Happy Birthday" rub-on to it (or use a pen to write it onto the paper if you have nice handwriting - which I don't). Glue the paper onto a piece of corrugated cardstock. Apply oversized letter stickers to spell out "mom" below the paper, and glue the scroll in place below the stickers. See? I told you it was easy. :-)
